Lauren Lowe approached Thrasher Design Studio wanting a new website after being underwhelmed by multiple rounds of concepts from her previous web agency. She wanted something more professional, less generic and after she told us she loved pink, we knew we could make something extra memorable. Her speciality is EMDR therapy, which is primarily targeted for trauma recovery. Needing therapy is not a particularly happy endeavor, so we wanted her branding to be playful and “happy.” To reflect the changes her clients could expect afterwards.

The color palette and mood board for this brand was heavily inspired by Lauren’s overall infectious joie-de-vive. The light pink colors make you want to smile, but the black accent keeps it sophisticated. A whimsical illustration in the original mood board influenced the custom illustrations we designed for the website.
photography art direction
When embarking on a personal brand, thinking strategically about the photography is critical. We provided Lauren with overall Photography Art Direction, which includes lighting, specific shots, wardrobe ideas, location, props, and more. Incredibly thorough, it is intended to be shared with the photographer in order to be aligned with the overarching brand identity.

Built on WordPress, this website is engaging and interactive as you scroll through it, with cute little custom illustrations and moving GIFs creating a sense of playfulness that further reinforce the brand offering. It’s definitely one of our favorites!
